I guess I can go along with that expression. When one is a zero, an invisible woman, a nothing that is nonindividuating, group-living, a follower and only exists or has identity as a group-member, then the loss of personal identity is a fact, a horrible reality so often lived, so rarely discarded.
Identity is everything if one becomes singular, identifiable, individual, unique, larger-than-live, individuating, indiviudal-living as a great soul striding across the local landscape.
