Whether our sad, messed-up lives are our fault or not, or to what degree we are each blameworthy, these considerations are ultimately irrelevant.
What is significant is adopting the useful moral fiction, that any failure in my life is my fault, forces me to think of myself and my destiny as dependent on my personal agency. Once I embrace this useful moral fiction, I am now a person that is redirected on the path of self-realization, I am becoming unstoppable and able to do new, artistic, unimaginable, impressive things.
