Learn From History

I switched jobs and do not have time in a company van anymore traveling around during work time, so I do not have time to listen to the sapient Dennis Prager.

I caught a bit of his show yesterday, and here is what the sage advised: we do not value history anymore, so we do not learn from the experience of our ancestors, so we are doomed to repeat their foolish, tragic mistakes repeatedly.

Prager suggested two solutions to this problem. First, kids are not taught history anymore—non-revisionist history from which they learn from the experience of our forebearers. We need to learn from history once more, so we know what to do, and what to avoid doing.

Second, once we study and know history, if we have gained wisdom, we can then know what lessons history teaches us, and then we know how to act, and how not to act, so we can progress without having to learn from personal experience and misadventures.

However, wisdom is learned from the Bible, and from God talking to us. I agree and add that if we love God’s voice, and hear and heed the lessons that the divinities are teaching to us, and we reason well, we can live well and not waste our experience, repeating mistakes from the past,

Prager makes a lot of sense here.
