There is a brand new Prager U video out that offended me, and, that is saying a lot, because I love Prager’s views most of the time, but his organization got this one wrong.
On 1/1/2024 Prager You released a video narrated by Peachy Keenan and it is titled: Wife, Mother, Extremist.
Here is what the Amazon blurb advertising her book, Domestic Extremist: A Practical Guide to Winning the Culture War, says:
“Spot-on, often satirical, always insightful, contributing editor of The American Mind and mother of a brood, Peachy Keenan argues that the only way we can save our families, ourselves, and the world—even California!—is by embracing our inner domestic extremists, and sweeping failed notions of third wave feminism and identity politics nonsense into the garbage can of history.”
My response: The former professional writer, Mrs. Keenan, thinks feminism is the source of moral and cultural rot and decline in America, and its Third Wave Feminism preaching Marxism, postmodernism and other gibberish, is to be rejected wholly.
I wish Keen directly and Prager, indirectly, would clearly distinguish between classical, wholesome feminism, the empowerment of each woman to have a career if she chooses. She should marry and have babies and be domestic, if she chooses. If she wants to be supermom, have a career, have babies, and self-actualize some way, that is powerful and liberation in its superpower form, the way I want women to live, if they choose to.
If she wants to stay home and not self-actualize, and be a homemaker and have lots of kids, that is okay too.
It is simple: if we desire human liberation as a goal, with self-realization as a self-sacrificial act of working hard to develop one’s potential as a gift to a benevolent deity, thanking that deity for the gift of life.
I like traditional American and Western Judeo-Christian values, but we need to add feminism and Mavellonialism to them. Feminism allows women to be liberated. Mavellonialism enjoins each human to obey the divine call to self-actualize.
If mothers and wives are empowered, liberated and free and self-determining, their children will be strong, independent, self-reliant, self-realizing and powerful. If a liberated, self-actualizing husband and father (main provider, secondary provider or Mr. Mom supported by his wife) does not tyrannize or subjugate his wife or children, then all will be more powerful, liberated, godly, prosperous, loving, creative and happy, and that requires classical feminism as part of the values system of the new West, and domestic extremism of the homemaker does not provide us that needed classical feminism.
