As Miranda sings in the country music song: If it is all handed to you, it amounts to nothing."
This is why we need to reassess the giving of charity or spoiling children. The willingness to work and go after what one needs is one of the best gifts and coping skills that a parent or others can bestow.
None amount to anything if all is handed to them, or they steal or receive welfare. We must work for what we need, and then we are proud of our efforts, learn to budget, pay our bills, pay off our debts, and take care of what we have bought and do possess.
If it is all handed to you, it amounts to nothing.
