Is the whole greater than its individual parts?
Now, that is difficult to answer. As an avowed egoist and a theologian that espouses that the Mother and Father are individualists first, and leaders of the groups that they chair, I am well aware of the primacy of the individualist in all matters on earth and in heaven.
On the other hand, all individualists as lawful anarchists and supercitizens, recognize that there is a common good to be respected, honored and maintained.
So, let me restate the famous motto written in this first paragraph. "At times, under specific circumstances, all may agree that the whole is greater than its individual parts. At all other times, reasonable individuals will assert that the needs and ambitions of any individual part of the whole, may be regarded by that individual, and by society as a whole, to be greater than the goals and directives emanating from that whole. Where such oppositional programs and actors clash, as they inevitably and occasionally will, the disagreements and disputes that have arisen, will be settled through voluntary negotiations, in good faith and in the spirit of fair dealing, between the disputants, trained in the logic of reasonableness and moderate standards, and dedicated to honoring and fully abiding by peaceful, binding deals reached. Where no compromise may be reached between the disputants, divine revelation, prayer, majority rule voting, legislative enactment of a statute, or by decision rendered through judicial ruling, shall impose upon the rival parties, a decision. The ruling will be final for 5 years or forever if none of the disputants revisit the issue in conflict. Compliance will be legally enforced, with involuntary adherence to the decision controlling all parties to the dispute."
In this way the whole is greater than its parts, but, at times, under special, specific circumstances, the primacy of individual rights and preferences are the law of the land.
