Christians believe that the poor are held in higher esteem by Jesus than are the rich, and they may be right.

As an egoist and theist, I assert that the Mother and Father are the Chief Egoists of the world, and egoists favor the wealthy and but mostly the middle class over the poor. This does not indicate that the Mother and Father are not for social justice, and not for a helping hand for the poor. Mostly, they want Mavellonialist techniques of self-help to empower the poor to learn good habits, good money handling, and good work habits to teach them to bootstrap their way to prosperity, a permanent means of wealth creation and wealth retention, reducing significantly the amount of people that are poor. That is real love and real concern for the poor.
