I know I am a special kind of rational egoist, that am an ethical moderate at the same time; I am an egoist-altruist.
Consistent with this moral theory, I believe is the following corollary: If you love yourself, you then are able to love others, and unless you love yourself first and more, you cannot love others at all.
It also goes the other way around: You can only love others if you love yourself first and most. If you do not love others, you do not love yourself.
If you love yourself, you will love others. If you love others, you will love yourself.
This line of thinking is consistent with the Golden Rule: You treat yourself as you would want to treat others, and you treat others as you would treat yourself, and have them treat themselves and you. You treat others well, and you want to be treated by them. This all works well if all treat themselves well first and foremost.
