Where power clustering institutions are dispersed and decentralized, the private individual will come to the fore and flourish.
This is the unique, brilliant insight insisted upon by our sage Founding Fathers. They believed in and made provisions for the necessity of preserving our political heritage, the separation of church and state. We do not want the majority faith running society and suppressing the minority, dissident faiths.
We do not want a king or imperial president dictating private religious beliefs, or regulating them.
The moderate practice of separating church and state tempers the power lust of religious and political factions.
