The Dean, Ayn Rand

I am reading The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Her hero, Howard Roark the genius and loner is being lectured by the college dean on Page 25: “

Nothing has never been invented by one man in architecture. The proper creative process is a slow, gradual, anonymous, collective one, in which each man collaborates with all others and subordinates himself to the standard of the majority.”

My response: it is true that we build upon what others creative, invented and produced in the past.

Tomorrow, as millions of average people learn to maverize, the rate and magnitude of invention, new ideas and knowledge gains will be stunning, and that is no slow creative evolution as the Dean implies.
