Benn Dorr from MGR posted this about the NRA, their historical surrendering--a bit at a time--our gun rights, allowing the State and the Left to infringe on 2A. Here is the stunning list of surrenders: "Brady Check -- They Supported

I wrote a month ago that I was doing a meta-study of the tactics and strategies employed by the Dorrs to make a grass-roots lobbying organization more effective. Here are a few more principles.

1. MGR directors and professional managers are criticized for not being at the Capitol, pressing the flesh with legislators, the governor and bureaucrats all the time. There is truth in that criticism but the fact is those like NRA lobbyists and professional lobbyists from Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus become part of the groupist, mediocre cultural of swamp corruption and cronyism at the Capitol. In effect the lobbyist own the legislative whores, and the for sale lobbyist whores end up bought, sold, owned and dictated to by the politicians. That is why they want the Dorrs in close at the Capitol, to coppt them, bribe them, cajole them, buy them, and then dictate to them and order them about.

2. Lobbyists that hang out at the Capitol with the insiders endorse RINOS and even Leftist gun grabbers that vote for gun-grabbing bills. Lobbyists like the NRA hand out to these infringement-allowing, compromising politicians A-rated endorsements as backers of gun rights, all the while they actually  sell gun owners out.

3. The Dorrs stay away, from schmoozing with politicians, for the most part, preferring to reach out to grass-roots members by videos and social media to rally the troops. It is the pressure from the no-compromise grass roots that defeats bad bills and gets pro-grun bills passed at the Capitol. 

4. No politician is ever to be trusted at their word. They lie repeatedly and shamelessly, and they have contempt for the people. They self-refer to themselves as bosses of the people, to tell them what to do, how to live, how to be regulated by government, and to just shut up and take it lying down.

5. MGR praises fairly and openly if a Democrat, Republican or Independent politician is pro-grun. If they promise, but do not get bills through committee, and out to a vote (good bills) and block bad bills in committee to keep them from getting a hearing, let alone to the floor, and then voting on the floor to kill the bad bill. That is keeping promises made to gun owners, a statesman-like, no compromise ever stance, rare in Minnesota politics.

Just because gun advocacy groups like the NRA used to do good work does not mean that they are not corrupt and sold out today. They are comrpomising away our gun rights, a little at a time as socialist, incrmentalist gun-grabbing is advancing towards gun confiscation. No more compromise.
