My 89 year old neighbor this morning, to celebrate the 4th, was getting up on a ladder across the street to hang up his flag 10 feet in the air. He is a Korean War era vet, a gentle man and gentleman, very deeply but quietly patriotic. That flag has flown over his garage every holiday for 60 years.
I ran across the street and put his flag out. I will remove it at 7pm this evening.
The transitional care for this couple is $6,000/month apiece. I believe that we should keep these elderly people in their homes as long as possible, as long as it is safe, affordable and in accordance with their wishes.
