Immanuel Kant was a towering genius, one of the smartest philosophers that ever lived.
His deontological moral system is a wonder, but he denounced the rights of individuals, and they were to live for the sake of the state. He wrote that being in combat invigorated a people.
He rejected the Enlightenment. After him about 180 years of German philosophers arguing that the average citizen is to live for the sake of the State, and that is his freedom. These thinkers have a lot to answer for: they conditioned the German masses to be willing to serve a monster like Hitler.
No philosophical idea or its creator live in a vacuum.
