I was pondering how a theology of egoism and an ethos of egoism are consistent with the accurate axiom that human life is made meaningful and noble for the individual, only when he dedicates his life to serving something greater than himself, likely God, and love at the core of this belief.
First, some premises. Egoism is virtue and altruism and vice or evil, more or less along the lines laid out by me with my customary moderate qualifying.
It follows then that, premise two, the greater, noble cause or being worshiped and served is an individualist and indviduator promoting De’s self-interest, it is in our best interest to promote our own self-interest in a way that is a gift back to God and is a gift that extends God kingdom in this world.
When one spiritually and morally pursues one’s self-interest in a morally admirable fashion, then this life of enlightened self-interest, the primary human focus, also meets the secondary ethical focus, to sacrifice ourselves for the common good. Noble self-love in action meets our need to serve God’s agenda and promotes the good of the community.
