Politico carried a 12-23-2015 opinion piece online about the Right's Post-Constitutional Moment. Writer Rich Lowry is prescient in warning the Right that Trump augurs the danger of fascist dictatorship if they are not careful.
He noted that politicians elected, with Tea Party support in 2010, tried to live by the Constitution as it informs all what the government can do, cannot do, and what it cannot do and why.
Trump is in danger of being such a strong executive on the right, not constrained by constitutionalism, the concept of limited government, and the rule of law.
If Barak has been the American Castro on the Left, trampling and ignoring the Constitution, are we any better off with Trump the American Putin on the Right, pushing aside Constitutionalism and Congressional and Judicial braking of his populist and demagogue excesses?
The answer is absolutely no! We people must insist that no tyrant on any level ever again will undermine the American constitutional republic, or deprive its people of property, lives, livelihoods, liberty or freedom of expression.
As individuated supercitizens, we must charge our President to obey the people and obey within constitutional boundaries or be immediately called out and fired by the people, unwilling to tolerate another dictator like Barak. Never again. Never again. President Trump may prove to be the American Putin if not leashed and kept leashed.
