The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact

Blue States are getting their state legislators to vote to join something called the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. It is a dangerous threat to our constitutional system.  Mob rule and people's passions from Leftist states like California would rule the rest of the country based on direct popular vote.
 The ideas that made sense to the Founding Fathers was that we need republican checks and balances to protect minorities (small states, etc.) against majority rule tyranny (democracy).

To keep government small and not tyrannical, we must not erode the curbs on majority hegemony.
