Washing The Van

I was washing my service van today, listening to Hannity on the radio. He paraphrased Thomas Paine to the effect that government is a necessary evil, and at worst, an absolute evil.

That was the view of the Founding Fathers. Government is a necessary evil, but must be kept powerful but small, effective, economically run, and permanently leashed by the taxpayers.

This is so the people can live under the rule of law, with justice for all, in maximum liberty.

Tyranny is centralized authority that is too centralized and has amassed power over the people and against the people.

Under totalitarianism, power is completely centralize, absolutely cruel, and the people suffer immensely. Absolute evil, in the form of government dictatorship, is hell on earth.

The government, at best, is a dangerous friend, and at worse, the core of wickedness and heinous acts on earth.
