Labels are good and necessary epistemiologically. As we observe, categorize, deduce and reach conclusions, language symbolically captures the ideas inhered in our conclusions. The labels that we apply to people, things, circumstances and patterns are vital to be applied so that we can communicate, live, operate and reach truthful assessments of things and reality.
Bigots might misuse labels, but that is obvious, not to be countenanced, and does not apply to most people, most of the time, as they use labels. So label away and be not intimidated by the politically correct and the victimization-baiters.
