On his video on ontological solipsism, McCarthy insists that solipsism requires language to describe consciousness, and language is embedded in a social foundation, involving many people; this social foundation is critical for the development of language, required by solipsists to express their position.
McCarthy argues that solipsism is only a problem should one dogmatically claim absolute knowledge status. We cannot prove or disprove solipsism but if we build a life on practical certainty, then we can build a life upon that. Sounds good.
