Here is a biblical quote from The New American Bible: “Who is like you among the gods, O Lord? Who is like you, magnificent in holiness? O terrible in renown, worker of wonders, when you stretched out your hand, the earth swallowed them!”
The singer of this hymn is making the point that Yahweh is the Supreme God, whereas other, minor, pagan deities are actually or relatively without power, or do not actually exist.
I am both a monotheist about Fate, the Father and Mother, Jesus, Allah, Buddha and the Holy Spirit, but other, minor deities, some are good and some exist, while some did not exist, were demonic or were weak.
Here is the same quote from the Holy Bible (KJV): “Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.”
