Chaos And Order--Jordan Peterson

On Page 38 of his book, 12 RULES FOR LIFE, AN ANTIDOTE TO CHAOS, Jordan Peterson describes chaos and order: "Chaos and order are two of the most fundamental elements of lived experience--two of the most basic subdivisions of Being itself. But they're not things, or objects, and they're not experienced as such. Things or objects are part of the objective world. They're inanimate, spiritless. They're dead. That is not true of chaos and order. Those are perceived, experienced and understood (to the degree that they are understood at all) as personalities--and that is just as true of the perceptions, experiences, and understanding of modern people as their ancient forebears. It's just that moderns don't notice."

Chaos and order as subdivisions of Being itself, as lived experiences? I will buy that. Now if chaos and order are not dead and spiritless like things, then they are alive, and are spirits with consciousness, so material things and chaos and order are all parts of Being?

Jordan refers to Chaos as less desirable, more evil, and female in personality, and Order as more desirable, more good and male in personality. This drives liberals and feminists crazy, but I think that is how reality is and works.

His critics need to remember two things. Jordan is an ethical moderate. Being too wrapped up in chaos is not good, and neither is being too wrapped up in order.

My point is the second compensation for Leftist and feminist critics to remember. These ontological realities that Jordan is describing are how things in nature and in Being. The self-actualizing maverizer, feminist, transgender, Marxist or whomever, can will to build a life as a living angel that transcends what one was made of, to use that unique nature to see an do wondrous, unique things. This should comfort the doubters and critics.
