Jordan Peterson, on Page 91 of his book, 12 RULES FOR LIFE AN ANTIDOTE TO CHAOS, writes that we should know what we resent: "Consult your resentment. It's a revelatory emotion, for all its pathology. It's part of an evil triad: arrogance, deceit and resentment. Nothing causes more harm that this unholy Trinity. But resentment always means one of two things. Either the resentful person is immature, in which case he or she should shut up, quit whining, and get on with it, or there is tyranny afoot--on which case the person subjugated has a moral obligation to speak up."
What Is Jordan getting at here. If one resents without justification it is time to man up, grow up, cop grateful attitude and give back to the world by shaping the self up. The other kind of resentment occurs when one is a tyrannized, bullied victim, and one has an obligation to refuse to go along with it. I would add that one has an obligation not to tyrannize anyone, also. That is another moral obligation.
