I am reading for the first time, Jordan Peterson's book, 12 RULES FOR LIFE. I wish to comment on several points that he highlights on Pages 9, 10 and 11, based upon his and others research in the biological sciences, and how the lessons translate into the essential characteristics of homo sapiens. His theory seems plausible to me.
On Page 9 he writes that the top male or the most attractive, potential mates for females is set up by males among themselves competing and establishing a hierarchy of dominance and excellent, and the winner get the girls. It sounds likely: my advice is not to fight our biological natures, but to redirect them to where we want to live as personally qua individuating.
Jordan goes on about the quite ancient bases of the Beast being attractive to the Beauty, but the Beast cannot be just a tyrant, or the animal hierarchy is unstable. I know not much about all this, but Jordan seems well-researched in concluding as he has.
What we are biologically is what we are, and we must take it with us, as we culturally and ethically advance.
Jordan is not an apologist for Social Darwinism and the rich deserve to be on top; rather he is citing how humans as animals have constructed their societies and cultures, and that it is no easy thing to fundamentally transform our genetic heritage.
