The 1/4/2022 paper, The Cavalier Chronicle, carries a weekly homily on Page 7, and this one is entitled Endorsement, and is from the Revised Common Lectionary, 1992, for Sunday, January 8, 2023. I wrote out the homily and will comment on it: “At his baptism, Jesus heard God’s voice of approval. That ringing praise began and powered Jesus’ ministry. How can you power your ministry? Take your baptism seriously. Take your promises seriously. Review your baptismal vows this week in church. This is My Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:13-17”
My response: When baptized, the baby or adult is purified, accepted into the church and born again in Jesus. Jesus himself allowed John to baptize Him, likely to remind Christians of how important partaking in this sacrament was.
One has to be a deity of renown and great power and significance for God the Father to personally, vocally endorse one, at the moment of baptism, to the world. What a ministry send-off for a star minister! Allow Jesus into your heart, allowing you to enter heaven.
How can you power your ministry: by taking up the invitation from Jesus and the Good Spirits to be born again as a self-realized living angel, having answered the call of the good divinities to serve God and be as godly as possible. That is the promise you make and must keep as constantly and loyally as you can.
