Exodus 15:3-7

Yahweh is described, praised, and marveled at in this canticle, extolled as a warrior God. God is a warrior, and not a nonviolent, pacifist. God expects us to take up arms and fight evil and holy, just wars upon occasion. Here are the verses from The New American Bible: “The Lord is a warrior, Lord is his name. Pharaoh’s chariots and army he hurled into the sea; the elite of his officers were submerged into the Red Sea. The flood waters covered them, they sank into the depths like a stone. You right hand, O Lord, magnificent in power, your right hand, O Lord, has shattered the enemy. In your great majesty you overthrew your adversaries; you loosed your wrath to consume them like stubble.”

God is warrior that will kill evil enemies, human and divine (if a soul can be exterminated.).

Here are the same verses from the Holy Bible (KJV): “The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name. Pharaoh’s chariots and hosts he has tossed into the sea: his chosen captains are also are also drowned in the Red Sea. The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed into pieces the enemy. And in the greatness of thy excellency thou has overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth they wrath, which consumed them as stubble.”

My response: One wants the wrath of God with one and not against one.
