Individual Identity

It just recently came to me that personal identity is critically important for personal success, and I wish to expound on that.

If one’s identity is that one should believe in, serve, and celebrate the existence of and enjoyment of the good deities in our lives, and, that maverizing is how one can best serve them, then one’s identity is ambitious: to aim high is to be capable of doing great things. This is the identity posture of a maverizer.

If one’s identity is group identity, one can believe in and serve good deities, but that service to these deities is not what it could be. The worshiper lives a life of mediocrity, nonindividuating, held back by group-living, group ethics (altruism-collectivism) and celebrating group rights over individual rights.

If one’s identity is the identity of one’s group or groups, then one is personally aiming low. To aim low is to live a mean life.
