I have copying the short homily from The Cavalier Chronicle, from 1/3/24, entitled Shout It Out! This homily was posted on Page 7 and it was for Sunday, 1/7/24. This homily is from the Revised Common Lectionary, 1992.
Here it is: “If we believe the Good News really is good news, why are we so subdued about? Our world thirsts for news that is good. We have something good to proclaim. This week, in church, gain courage to proclaim what God has done for you . . . proclaim the praise of the Lord. Isaiah 60:1-6.”
My response: The good news is in us, around us and over us if we just acknowledge that God loves us, and that we enjoy many blessing each day. This is the glory and generosity of Jesus and the Divine Couple towards and for us.
