My exchange with a sensible woman on gun control: "You mean well, but in the name of helping kids, you are slowly squeezing the life out of the right to bear arms amendment. Gun control is the emotional reaction of the Left, but is not a solution. Growing government with more restrictive laws over gun rights is not the solution. Criminals always get guns illegally on the street, so more restrictive gun laws only punish the law-abiding.To stop the killing of kids, harden the schools and arm employees inside, Get the dangerously mentally ill off the streets. Give protected class status to misfit loners like Cruz so he can sue to prevent bullying and ostrasizing of his kind by schools cliques and school officials. Bring family and morality back to the kids so they grow up with guns like our rural grandparents did without a cultural context of dealienation so that kids do not turn on their own.
