You can make a difference in three ways. The best way to make a difference is to handle your own affairs well, so you are part of the solution, not a problem or burden on anyone else. If you maverize, then you are advancing human knowledge, art and technology, and that improves life for all.
Second, you can work with others to help them become more independent and self-reliant. In that way, they too are less of a burden to society.
The third way to impact others is to provide charity for them without hope that they will ever get better. This type of aid is needed, but does not lead to their personal improving.
