If one does take the plunge, and actually dedicates one's life to God, how would one recognize that point along the road to self-development, beyond which one has achieved greatness? I cannot answer this important question because I possess no knowledge of the nature of metrics needed to measure accurately significant personal development.
Even if I did show mastery of such a bundle of metrics, how would I apply them.
Generally speaking, the self and the community should intuitively sense when the developing individual being appraised has gone from having potential to actually having achieved individual greatness.
