The individuating egoist is much more self-sacrificing than most altruists. Indeed, if called for, the individuator will lay down his life for God, country, his neighbor, and to defy those who say betray your values or die as a punishment.
Most altruists, especially the sleeping, nonindividuating kind, is rather dull, sullen and selfish, out for himself only, as the law of the jungle is his code. Watch how he cuts others offer and rages on the freeway.
