Should American philosophy have become a highly dry, technical, symbolic and specialized subject of study?
I prefer that it be more speculative, more personal and idiosyncratic, more open-ended and free-wheeling, metaphysical and wandering all over the place.
Still, the dry, crabbed university employees, Leftist, atheist, symbolic logicians have a role to play too.
