Our Tax And Spend Pathology

The public spending and deficit increase is staggering and unimpededas we now are approaching 30 trillion dollars on public debt. We have huge, bloated growing government so alien to small, limited, paid-for government size and expenditures covered annually as envisioned by the Founding Fathers. Mark Levin, on Pages 23 an 24 of Plunder and Deceit, describes succinctly the problem, and it scope: "Dr. Thomas Sowell, senior fellow at the Hoover Institute, Stanford University, notes that 'There was a time when the purpose of taxes was to pay the inevitable costs of government. To the political left, however, taxes have long been seen as a way to redistribute income and finance other social experiments based on liber ideology." We should not be conducting social experiments, especially by confiscating wealth from business and private citizens to redistribute wealth from the haves to the have-nots, conducting social engineering exercises, growing government and limiting individual liberty and rights.
