Tainted

The common situation of society can be so rotten, so pernicious, that one is tempted to go into pure isolation, completely withdrawing from the world,  so as not to be besmirched by contact with the world and its wickedness.

The outcome could be a live of a hermit saint, a brilliant thinker, or a pious monk.

One danger that come to mind that religious communes like the Amish, rearing their children in holy isolation, render thos children helpless to cope with the world, when they do meet outsiders.

It may seem prudent for the young from a segregated commune to have some interaction with the connected and worldly so that the world does not fascinate them.

Complete or partial isolation--which way to proceed. I cannot advise.
