Instilled In Us

Do we have moral judgment or the faculty of conscience instilled in us by nature innately, or  are we blank slates to be written on by the customs and ethos of our society and its cultural highlights? I would answer yes and yes, but our innate, primitive tendency to ignore or override inherent and stunted, undeveloped conscience that must be awakened, strengthened and its exercise by us must become awake and active as good moral habits.

Then the traditional Christian and Western customs and ethos of our society must be taught to our children.

We do need to judged, discriminate, differentiate and label all acts, thoughts and choices as good, neutral or bad because the power of reason  and the exercise of rational intuition is the ethical assignation of normative valuation to each act, thought and choice. The application of intuition, logic, moral language and  reasoning to each act is essential to the effective functioning to each citizen and to all of society as the concepts of right and wrong are accepted and present constantly in the lives and dealings of all citizens.
