God's natural law is prior to the existence of humans, and will regulate the world and behavior of intelligent beings within it, after we go extinct.
We are ruled by natural law. Therefore God's eternal law directs that we act in our own self-interest as mini-creators and mini-legislators writing and implementing moral law in our sphere of influence, small carbon copies of Individualistic and Individuating Mother and Father that made the world and wrote the laws that govern it.
