One of the things that my close study of the Founding Fathers has brought to my attention is that they realized fully that a constitutional republic like ours would only work as long as the people participated wholly as educated, informed, virtuous private citizens.
If just laws are passed, and law and order work to protect our liberty and property rights, none of this will matter unless a virtuous people are willing to be lawful and respectful towards the rights and wealth of others, while asserting personal liberty and personal control of one's own wealth.
