The first snow storm, fro 9 to 12 inches of the white stuff, are to fall on us today. The travel section of the local paper sure looks good this morning, with all sorts of inviting tropical destinations like Grenada and along the Baja, beckoning to weary tourists.
There are hurdles in life, like clearing away a foot of snow, and wrestling with the snow blower to make sure it is operational. We just must take these arduous tasks in stride, rising to the occasion once again, to make things work and keep the driveway open so we can get to work and school as required.
Doing one's duty in a mood of cheer and resolve is the only way to face such challenges head on. To depart from such a mood of coping only makes getting through it all that much worse, because one still has to rise to the occasion, and deal with nature's gift.
