Meaninglessness

 

I saw online today (11/8/2023) a brief quote by Dennis Prager from, one of his Fireside Chats. I will paraphrase and then comment on the remarks.

 

Prager: America is a country where the Left has deprived a generation of love of God and country. It is no wonder that we are a people falling apart. People need to love God and country so they can fill their lives with meaning. Food is the most basic need, but meaning is next. Meaning is more important than sex, for you can live without sex but you cannot live without meaning.”

 

My response: The wise Prager is alerting us to the fact that the Left deliberately deconstructed the religious and cultural metanarrative, that story or that set of traditional values that underpinned America’s fantastic success, freedom prosperity, tolerance and opportunity for people from all over the world.

 

First, they won at imposing their society without God, country, or culture to believe in. Now nihilism and meaningless are the cultural norm, and all is falling apart as planned. Now they reconstruct America with postmodernist neo-Marxist holy cause, a demonic ideology meant to turn America into the world’s worst totalitarian hellhole.
