The moral man takes himself seriously, but not too seriously. The most wicked person in the world is a virulent, on-the-march fanatic that takes life, others and himself with total seriousness.
We always need to laugh at life, others and ourselves in a non-malicious way. We must be practical and down-to-earth.
We do not want to become big-headed, or we will have murky judgment, either overreacting or under-reacting.
We need to take ourselves seriously, but not too seriously.
