Some Thoughts

Notice that both of the Libertarian cartoon attacks on Trump and and other conservativesare ad hominem attacks on the character and motive of conservative leaders that are not afraid of government shutdowns to balance the budget or close the border--all principled budgetary and national security stances that were accepted, popular and with broad support not too many decades ago.

The Libertarians, like the Left, see the government as so essential that they perpetuate the lie that a government shutdown really matters, that the government is so essential to our lives. In truth, the government is a bloated, authoritarian monster run by crooked politicians and Washington elites. We need strong but small, federal government much down-sized and reduced in significance and importance, the way that it was meant to be under the Founders. The conservative leaders that are mocked inthese cartoons is a ruse foisted off on the public by Leftist manipulators. If they, the public, can be groupthinked and brainwashed into believing that shutdowns are only about petty egos and revenge, we do not have to avoid intellectual deflection and concentrate on the constitutional principles driving conservative support of the shutdown.
