The Electoral College was fabricated by the Founders to avoid majority tyranny and factionalism. Tyrannical and factional are what the Leftists seeking a one-party federal dictatorship are seeking.
If they eliminate the Electoral College, they will have succeeded, so that small states, minorities, individualists and minority points of view will be silenced.
