In his Prager U video, biologist Colin Wright lays out that human sex is binary. That it is not a spectrum. He notes that those rare humans that have mixed genitalia, with intersex condition is very uncommon, not a third sex, and not the exception that invalidates the rule that human sex is binary.
Human sex is the same as human gender, and it is assigned at birth, and is simple and concrete and permanent.
The socially constructed story of gender identity is complex and multivariable, but that is imagined, not based in reality. This fantasy of many genders is ambiguous but is only linguistic opinion.
